About
The structure is situated in a 117-acre campus wherein 4 acres were allocated towards the construction of this public school. With the design of this building, we tried to create a learning environment that would be thermally comfortable to sit in and that would be inspiring to the children occupying it. The school was supposed to cater to students from kindergarten to Pre-University. So, the design of the blocks allows for segregation of the groups and also mediates crowd evenly throughout the structure with strategically placed staircases and overlooking courts. The lush green courtyard at the center forms the anchor around which the various spaces are organized to have maximum interconnectivity while also bringing the nature into the built environment. The use of wire cut brick as the primary material was to bring a welcoming warmth into the spaces. The exterior of the building is adorned with details that add to its character such us the notches in the parapet walls and the treatment of the window chajjas.
